On Friday, October 1, 2021, Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union City and Baptist Medical Group, Baptist’s multidisciplinary network of more than 9,000 providers, broke ground on Baptist Health Center – a new medical office building located at 1020 East Reelfoot Avenue on the campus of Baptist Union City. Construction began in September 2021, and the building is projected to open in fall 2022.

Improving access to women’s health services in West Tennessee

Baptist Health Center will house local physician practices on the hospital campus, allowing access to important medical services to the people in and around Union City in one convenient location. It also increases access to women’s health services in West Tennessee, as Baptist Medical Group-The Woman’s Clinic will relocate to the new facility when construction is completed. Baptist Health Center will measure 24,000 square feet and contain space for up to three more tenants.

A new center for women’s health

Baptist Medical Group-The Woman’s Clinic provides comprehensive women’s health care, specializing in the medical and surgical treatment of problems related to the female reproductive system, as well as the management of pregnancy and delivery. Their new location will be adjacent to Baptist Union City, which recently renovated and expanded the hospital’s Women’s Center with labor/delivery/recovery/postpartum rooms that allow maternity patients to stay in one room during childbirth. The hospital delivers the most babies in the area as part of the largest maternity and women’s health care facility in Northwest Tennessee. The expansion also includes four new rooms to assess and treat patients.

An investment in exceptional care

Baptist Health Center represents a $10 million investment by Baptist to make vital medical services and comprehensive women’s health care more accessible to West Tennessee residents. Baptist Union City is an award-winning health care facility located in the northwest corner of Tennessee, just south of the Kentucky border. Medical services include inpatient and outpatient surgery, inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation, coronary intensive care, cancer treatment, a sleep disorders center, a 24-hour emergency room, telemedicine, imaging and laboratory services.

With advanced medical technology and world-class care, Baptist Union City has received many awards and accolades, including the QUEST Award for High-Value Healthcare from Premier Inc., the Quest Hero Award and an “A” rating for Safety from The Leapfrog Group.
